In the township the population was spread out with 21.6% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.27. 21.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 34,615 households out of which 33.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 12.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.63% (15,562) of the population. There were 36,124 housing units at an average density of 1,556.2 per square mile (600.9 /km 2).
